I swear this blog won’t become 100 percent self-promotion of my personal projects, but! I do this book club over at Next American City, and I’d be really happy if you participated. My August pick is Tom Scocca’s Beijing Welcomes You, and the discussion will happen on Aug. 22.

Last month’s discussion was a total dud, and it was a bummer! I’ve done my best to promote this book club without getting in anyone’s face, but it looks like I’ve got to start, well, getting in faces. So! Read the book!
