Colorlines posted their picks for ultimate summer jams. They’re all good, but Lauryn Hill’s “Doo-Wop (That Thing)” was on the list and oh, man, I remembered loving the song but hadn’t seen the video.* So, watch and enjoy.

*I didn’t watch TV growing up, not because my parents didn’t let me but because I never figured out how to turn the damn thing on. I did, however, listen to the radio—all stations—obsessively. Thanks to the Internet, I am only just now catching up with the visual components of the songs I loved when I was younger.
